An elite breed, only twenty-four compete for the 2010 Formula 1 World Title. Some of them started racing as early as three years old. No matter how long they have been racing currently they are best of the best, chosen to drive for twelve Formula 1 Grand Prix teams.
JAIME ALGUERSUARI
FERNANDO ALONSO
Fernando Alonso Díaz (born July 29, 1981 in Oviedo, Spain) is a Spanish Formula One racing driver and a two-time World Champion. He is the youngest double World Champion: 25 years, 85 days in 2006. Alonso first sat to drive a kart at the age of three. In 2001, nineteen year old Alonso was promoted from the test driver to Formula 1 prize driver and he made his debut in Formula 1 racing.
RUBENS BARRICHELLO
The late Ayrton Senna was one of Barrichello’s idols, and Barrichello looked up to him, and when he came to Formula One, Senna thought about making him his protégé. And as of now, till the 2009 Formula One season, this guy is the only driver who is left, to have competed against Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost – and that makes him the last still-competing driver who is connected to that time of Formula One.
SEBASTIEN BUEMI
Born on October 31, 1988, Sebastian Olivier Buemi is from Aigle of the Canton district in Switzerland who races for Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2009 in the Formula One racing. After his graduation from karting, Buemi spent the years 2004 and 2005 racing in German Formula BMW and he finished third and second respectively in the German championship. Living presently in Bahrain with family, his cousin Natacha Gachnang is also a F1 racer and is at present competing in the FIA Formula Two Championship. He is for sure one of the promising youngsters on the speed tracks of Formula One racing.

The Formula One British phenomenon named Jenson Button was born on January 19th in 1980 in Frome, Somerset in the United Kingdom. He has started his career in carting, and at the age of nine he was able to finish first in the British Super Prix. Nine years later, he became the youngest winner of the European Super A championship and won the Ayrton Senna Memorial Cup in Suzuka.

This German racing driver stood in for Giorgio Pantano in the 2004 Canadian Grand Prix as he had a dispute over the contract with Jordan Grand Prix. The path led Timo Glock to become a part of that select group of drivers having scored World Championship point in their first F1 race. His career began at the age of fifteen by winning several carting championships and also the BMW ADAC Formula Junior Cup in 2000, theFormula BMW ADACChampionship (2001).
LEWIS HAMILTON
Born on 7th January 1985, Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton represents Britain in Formula One racing; Named very aptly after Carl Lewis, the sprinter, his namesake, this speed demon is the youngest black to win a Formula One World Championship. He currently races for the team of McLaren-Mercedes team.

Heikki Johannes Kovalainen was born on October 19, 1981 in Suomussalmi, Finland. He is a Finnish Formula One racing driver currently in the McLaren Mercedes team. He was supported by the Renault Driver Development programme early in his racing career, during which he won the World Series by Nissan championship and finished runner-up in the GP2 series. Kovalainen began his car racing career in the British Formula Renault championship, which Finn Kimi Räikkönen had won the previous year before moving straight into Formula One with Sauber.
ROBERT KUBICA
With Robert Kubica driving in the F1 the phrase "Pole Position" took a whole new meaning. The first Polish driver on the F1 circuit, Kubica also became the 99thDriver to win an F1 race when he took advantage of all the confusion the Canadian Grand Prix in 2008 to win his first race behind the steering wheel of a BMW Sauber Car.

FELIPE MASSA
Felipe Massa is a Brazilian Formula One racing driver, currently employed by Scuderia Ferrari. Felipe Massa was the kart star in 1990 – 1997 years. However, only in 1998 he became a real success. He performed successfully during the Brazilian Formula-Chevrolet Championship, finishing the fifth. In 1999, Massa has won this championship. Felipe was asked to sign a contract as Sauber’s racing driver for the season 2002.

Nico Rosberg, born in Wiesbaden, Germany on July 27 1985 races for the Williams Formula One team under the German flag. He also competed for Finland earlier as he holds dual nationality of both countries. Nico began his career in 1996 in carting, being eleven years old at the time and in 2002, he moved to German Formula BMW, winning the title.

Sutil is the son of professional musicians Monika, a German, and Jorge, a Uruguayan. Until the age of 14, he was a very talented and supported pianist. Adrian Sutil from Germany began his sports career in karting in 2000. Adrian’s performance proved to be acceptable for the team leaders and soon Adrian Sutil made his Formula One debut in 2007 season in Germany.
JARNO TRULLI
Jarno Trulli is an Italian racing driver. He takes part in Formula 1 races since 1997. He was a racing driver for Minardi, Prost, Jordan GP, Renault, and Toyota F1 teams. Driving for Renault in 2004 Jano won his first Grand Prix. Since 2004 his favored team is Panasonic Toyota Racing.
SEBASTIAN VETTEL
Sebastian Vettel is a Formula 1 driver, of German nationality – and he drives for the Red Bull Racing. He actually replaced the driver before him – David Coulthard. When Sebastian Vettel took part in the Friday practice, for the Turkish Grand Prix held in 2006, he became the youngest Formula One driver who had ever driven at a Grand Prix meeting. His age then was 19 years and 53 days.
MARK WEBBER
Mark Alan Webber was born on August 27th, 1976, in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, and is definitely one of the most successful Formula One drivers around. For instance, did you know that in the year 2002, he was the first Australian to race in Formula One, since David Brabham in 1994? Also, in the 2009 German Grand Prix, he became the first Australian to win a race since Alan Jones had won, in 1981.

SEBASTIAN BOURDAIS
Sebastien Olivier Bourdais, born in 1979, is a race car driver from France who has made a name in the history of Champ Car World Series. He has got huge popularity in the last few years as he won 4 successive championship trophies from 2004 to the year 2007. At present, Sebastian Bourdais is considering to file a claim against the Toro Rosso team for breaching the contract.
GIANCARLO FISICHELLA
Giancarlo Fisichella was twice vice-champion of Europe and vice world champion, when he first sat behind the wheel of formula 1 racing car in the championship of Formula-Alfa Boxer in 1991. Then in 1992 he moved to the Italian Formula 3 series, where he spent the year. Hee became vice-champion in 1993 and the champion the next season.
NICH HEIDFELD
Nick Lars Heidfeld can be called another exception to the image of the slow Taurean bull apart from Felipe Massa, driving for the BMW Sauber Formula One racing team. Born on May 10, 1977, this German has the maximum GP starts without winning the first position of the podium amongst all the present drivers. Heidfeld has often partnered rookie drivers who later on became competent themselves and also scored more points than he.
KAZUKI NAKAJIMA
He began carting in the year 1996 and won many championships along the way. Nakajima’s competitive racing career began in the Formula 3 Euroseries in the year 2006. His debut in Formula One racing came in the November of 2006 at the Japanese Grand Prix where he successfully finished four laps in conditions that were wet.
NELSINHO PIQUET
Nelshinho’s real name is ‘Nelson Ângelo Tamsma Piquet Souto Maior’ and he is also referred to as Nelson or Nelson Piquet Junior. He was born in Germany on the 25th of July 1985. Nelsinho is the son of one of the most famous Brazilian F1 drivers, Nelson Piquet who was a 3 time world champion in his time. His road to a Formula 1 driver’s place began when he raced in the GP2 series in seasons of 2005 and 2006.
KIMI RAIKKONEN
Kimi was born to race and from his very first seat time in a pedal kart at the tender age of three he showed the passion to racing and going fast. Kimi Raikkonen, born October 17, 1979, known as Iceman and Kimster, is a Finnish Formula One car race driver, the 2007 Formula One World Driver’s Champion currently driving for Scuderia Ferrari.
