Sebastien Buemi
Born on October 31, 1988, Sebastian Olivier Buemi is from Aigle of the Canton district in Switzerland who races for Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2009 in the Formula One racing. Like his team which is relatively a new team on the track, this young Libran is also the latest addition to the track, his debut having been the 2009 Australian Grand Prix. He has merely competed in nine races with just three career points.
Career
After his graduation from karting, Buemi spent the years 2004 and 2005 racing in German Formula BMW and he finished third and second respectively in the German championship. He also became the runner you for the 2005 FBMW World Final. In 2005 after he followed a single race in Spanish Formula Three, Buemi shifted to the Formula Three Euro Series in 2006 and finished twelfth in the championship. He ceded eleventh place on count back to Charlie Kimball. Remaining in the series in 2007, he came to a finish second in the Euro Series championship. He took part in the special Masters of Formula 3 and also the Macao Grand Prix series. In the 2006-07 A1 Grand Prix season, he shared duties in driving with Neel Jani and Marcel Fassier for the A1 Team Switzerland. In the championship, the team came to finish eight. At ART Grand Prix, Buemi, at short notice, was drafted in replacement of Michael Ammermüller who was injured in the Monaco round of the 2007 season of the GP2 Series. His creditable performance in his GP2 debut, served to qualify him fourth and a seventh finish. In 2008, he joined the Arden International Team for the GP@ Asia Series, finishing as runner-up and a victory. He also scored four second places. For the main 2008 season, he stuck to the team and scored his first win at the French Sprint race after he started on the twenty first position at the grid with slick tyres on a track which was drying and benefited when most rivals had to pit for slicks. He brought the end of the season with sixth position and one more victory in the race. On the 16th of January, 2998 it was confirmed by Red Bull that they had engaged Buemi as their test and reserve driver in the 2008 season and on 9th January, 2009, he was confirmed as one of their race drivers. By finishing eight in the 2009 Australian Grand Prix, he scored a point. He scored another in the Chinese Grand prix by again finishing eight after he started as the tenth.
Summary
Living presently in Bahrain with family, his cousin Natacha Gachnang is also a F1 racer and is at present competing in the FIA Formula Two Championship. He is for sure one of the promising youngsters on the speed tracks of Formula One racing.
