Timo Glock

Born in 18 March 1982, Lindenfels Germany, fate had a tale for Timo Glock. This German racing driver stood in for Giorgio Pantano in the 2004 Canadian Grand Prix as he had a dispute over the contract with Jordan Grand Prix. The path led Timo Glock to become a part of that select group of drivers having scored World Championship point in their first F1 race. His career began at the age of fifteen by winning several carting championships and also the BMW ADAC Formula Junior Cup in 2000, the Formula BMW ADAC Championship (2001). His consequent victories in his first German Formula Three Championship season, by coming third he paved his way to becoming the rookie of the year accolades. 2003 saw him winning three races and scoring three more podium finishes in the Formula Three Euro series to becoming fifth in the Championship.

Formula One Commences

Glock was the test driver for Jordan Grand Prix in the 2004 Formula One season, making his F1 debut in the Canadian Grand Prix as he replaced Giorgo Pantano for a race, scoring two points. He took over from Pantano for the last three of the races, finishing the season with Jordan.

2005

Glock moved his racing career to the United States, participating in series like the Champ Car World Series. He won second place at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. in Canada, losing the first position to Orio Servia. But he did win the Champ Car World Series Rookie of the Year.

2006-2007

Glock raced in the GP2 Series, a level just below F1 in Europe. Later in the season, he was promoted to the main test and reserve driver for BMW.

2008

His first points were scored in the Canadian Grand Prix when he came fourth ahead of Felipe Massa. He achieved a career best at the Hungarian Grand Prix by coming fifth. He finished the race by coming second ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, the then world champion. And one of his best finishes in the season as at the Singapore Grand Prix. He ended the season of 2008 by coming sixth in the race and tenth in the championship in the Brazilian Grand Prix, earning 25 points.

2009

This year started reasonably well for Glock who is now sixth in the championship after the Spanish Grand Prix and his team, Toyota, is third in the line for the Constructor’s Championship.
