The Chinese motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the World Motorcycle Racing season. It is usually held at the Shanghai International Circuit that is a brand new motor racing venue, situated in the district of Jiading near Shanghai in the People’s Republic of China. It was designed by Hermann Tilke, and also features his trademark track feature – a long back straight followed by a hairpin turn.

The track combines a variety of fast and slow corners but will be very quick over an entire lap. In total, the track is made up of 14 corners and its longest straight is a 1175-metre section linking turns 13 and 14. Costing approximately $450 million (USD),

There is enough room around the circuit to host 200,000 spectators, including more than 29,000 in the grandstand opposite the pits. This area will allow the spectator to see up to 80% of the track, which is quite remarkable. Computer simulations show an expected average speed of around 200 km/h and a top speed of over 320 km/h.
