Czech Republic MotoGP

The Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Before 1993, the race was known as the Czechoslovakian motorcycle Grand Prix. Since 1965 the race is a part of World Grand Prix serie (between 1982 and 1987 race was held as a part of European Grand Prix serie only).

It is held at The Masaryk circuit, now referred to as the Brno Circuit. The world’s most famous riders have taken part in GP events in Brno since 1930, where up until 1982 they would race through the villages and western parts of the city on a road track named after the first Czechoslovak President – T.G. Masaryk.

The current track was built in the second half of 1980s. The historical track led through the streets of western part of Brno and neighboring villages, such as Bosonohy and Zebetin . The first Grand Prix race, the Czechoslovakian Grand Prix , was held in 1930.

Popular with both fans and riders, the new circuit is built in a natural bowl which is banked in places to offer spectators an excellent view. Brno constantly changes in elevation as it sweeps across forested hillsides and its fast undulating corners test riders talent and engineering to the limit.
