The San Marino and Rimini Coast’s motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the World Motorcycle Racing season. The name of the race is a misnomer as the race has always taken place in Italy, but because there is already an Italian motorcycleGrand Prix it was called the San Marino Grand Prix because of the tracks position near San Marino. The race was first put the seasons schedule in 1981, but has been taken off and re-introduced a few times. Most recently it was re-introduced for the 2007 season.

As of 2009 , The Misano World Circuit will host the San Marino and Rimini’s Coast Grand Prix as part of the MotoGP World Championship. It is an Italian racetrack located next to the town of Misano Adriatico ( Province of Rimini) in the frazione of Santamonica. Originally designed in 1969 as a length of 3.488 kilometers(2.17 mi). In 1993, the track length was increased to 4.064 kilometers(2.53 mi).

The Misano is a new challenge for the large majority of the Moto Grand Prix riders. After the modifications in 2007 it has updated facilities, track and grandstands, The Misano Adriatico will hold maximum capacity of 60,000 spectators.
