2011 Season

The Malaysian Grand Prix has been dominated by Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner in recent years and we expect a battle for supremacy between the two once again this time. There will be a big challenge from both Dani Pedrosa and Dani Pedrosa and we expect another great race at the Sepang Circuit.

Overview

The Sepang Circuit offers an exciting and fast track and ha a number of good overtaking opportunities. The circuit has one of the longest laps in MotoGP with a distance of 5.548 km. The track is 25 m wide and includes 15 corners and a 920 m straight. The current fastest lap record is held by Valentino Rossi with a time of 2:00:518, which was set in 2009.

History

The Sepang International Circuit was built in 1998 and is considered one the best tracks in the world. The circuit was developed to produce exciting racing and includes a wide track to encourage overtaking and four slow corners as well as 10 high-speed turns. The intense heat and humidity makes racing difficult for the riders but the two long straights encourage plenty of action for the enthusiast spectators.
