2011 Season

The teams go into the San Marino MotoGP with great anticipation. Whilst Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo have every chance there will be a strong challenge from Valentino Rossi. Casey Stoner has won at San Marino in the past and will be expected to have a say in the final result.

Overview

The course offers a smooth 4.266 km circuit with a mix of 16 tricky corners. The longest straight is 565 m and the track width is 14 m. The current fastest lap record is held by Casey Stoner who set a time of 1:33:378 in 2008.

History

The Misano Adriatico circuit is located near to Rimini and held regular Italian Grand Prix events throughout the 80′s and 90′s. The course was built in 1972 but was recently modified with updated facilities, track and grandstands and can now accommodate 60,000 spectators. Top-class racing returned to the circuit when MotoGP was first held at the course in 2007 and the popularity of the event makes it likely that the race will continue for a long time into the future.
